Job summary

You will help with degree requirements, planning, and university policies, while collaborating with campus partners to support student success and retention.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a job-related field preferred or equivalent.
• Experience advising and supporting students from diverse backgrounds is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized and group advising on course selection, general education, and degree requirements.
• Monitor academic progress and provide proactive outreach to support retention and timely graduation.
• Interpret and communicate university policies and assist with petitions and exceptions.
• Support recruitment, orientation, Explore SDSU, and other student engagement initiatives.
• Navigate advising records using SDSU Navigate (EAB) and other systems.
• Collaborate with faculty advisors, departments, and campus offices to improve student experiences.
