Job summary

Purdue University in Indianapolis is seeking Stationed Student Operations Staff (SOS) to support University Residences operations and provide face-to-face customer service to students, parents, and campus constituents.

The role includes facilities-related support, assisting with Wi‑Fi access, door/lock concerns, and coordinating service requests with campus teams. Training occurs before the fall/spring semesters, with 8–12 hours per week expected.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be actively enrolled at Purdue University or Purdue Global.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written.
• Flexible and dependable with strong attention to detail.
• Problem solving, logic and reasoning skills.
• Customer service oriented.
• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and with a team.
• Be timely and organized.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety and risk management standards of the department.
• Handle and secure issued keys and access to facilities.
• Provide friendly, professional customer service to residents and families.
• Address Wi-Fi, door/lock, maintenance issues, and coordinate service requests with campus teams.
• Assist with check-in/check-out procedures for residents and equipment as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold university policies; report violations when observed.
• Participate in division committees and share student-centered feedback.
• Attend scheduled staff meetings and support ongoing training.
