Job summary

Houston Community College, Northeast Campus, seeks a Pathways and Case Management Advisor to partner with students, faculty, staff and community to develop educational and career plans. You will support admissions, orientation, registration, and retention initiatives to help students achieve goals.

Responsibilities include identifying options, monitoring progress, teaching self-navigation to degree completion, and referring students to tutoring, counseling, financial aid, and other services.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a related field preferred.
• 2 years related work experience in a post-secondary institution required.
• Experience advising both traditional-aged students and adults in higher education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify educational and career options with students and establish goals and action plans.
• Monitor academic progress and document status updates using campus technology.
• Teach students to self-navigate degree completion using campus resources.
• Provide information on guidelines, catalogs, and online resources.
• Send caseload messages regarding milestone attainment and progress.
• Respond to early alerts and provide referrals to tutoring, counseling, financial aid, and other services.
• Promote student life opportunities, activities, and programs.
• Inform students about procedures like withdrawal, repeats, and graduation.
• Support transfer planning to universities and articulation agreements.
