Job summary

Central Piedmont Community College seeks an expert generalist to guide students through onboarding, registration, and college processes. This role operates in a call center environment and supports students and staff with timely information and referrals to services.

Responsibilities include assessing student needs, applying guided pathways to set educational and career goals, and providing tech-enabled academic support on campus or remotely as needed. Participation in events is also required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree and six months of work experience in a college, customer service, or administrative environment and/or 3 years of experience in a college, customer service, or administrative environment.
• Detailed knowledge of college processes relating to students.
• Strong technology skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to work productively with multiple case management teams for individual students.

Responsibilities

• Provides friendly, timely, and accurate customer service and information to students and staff.
• Helps students navigate onboarding, registration, and college processes.
• Assesses students’ basic needs and interests.
• Uses a guided pathways approach to help students create or clarify productive educational and career goals.
• Provides general academic and student support through technology and on campuses.
• Represents the college at events and open houses.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
