Job summary

Jackson State Community College is seeking a Success Advisor to provide holistic advising and support across a student’s life cycle, helping with retention, degree planning, and transfer pathways to four-year institutions. This staff position reports to the Director of Advising, collaborates across departments, and uses the college CRM (Slate) to track student data and manage enrollment campaigns.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Experience in higher education involving advising, enrollment, retention, and graduation preferred.
• Strong oral and written communication skills and organizational abilities.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule and collaborate across departments.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and advise an assigned caseload of students from acceptance to completion.
• Refer students to on- and off-campus resources.
• Reach out to students via early alert systems and appointments.
• Assist with degree planning and Program of Study requirements.
• Support students in creating Academic Plans for financial aid and degree completion.
• Advise on transfer processes and assist with transfer events.
• Develop strategies to aid student success and well-being.
• Track student data using the college CRM (Slate).
• Participate in orientation planning and enrollment campaigns.
• Contribute to committees and professional development.
