Job summary

Houston Community College is seeking a Pathways and Case Management Advisor to partner with students, faculty, staff, and the community to create intentional educational and career plans that help students reach academic, personal, and professional goals.

You will inform prospective, new, and returning students of opportunities and requirements, provide high‑quality customer service to your caseload, and assist with registration, orientation, and completion programs.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree preferred.
• 2 years related work experience in a post-secondary institution.
• Experience advising traditional and adult learners in higher education.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify educational and career options with students and set an action plan.
• Monitor academic progress and document status updates.
• Teach students to navigate degree completion using campus systems.
• Provide information on guidelines, catalogs, and online resources.
• Manage caseloads to ensure progress toward certificate or degree.
• Respond to early alerts and refer to tutoring, counseling, financial aid, etc.
• Provide transfer planning and articulation resources.
• Support College Connection and other outreach efforts.
