Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• 2 years related work experience in a post-secondary institution required.
• Experience advising traditional-aged students and adults in a higher education setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify educational and career options with students and set goals with action plans.
• Monitor academic progress using campus systems and document case management activities.
• Teach students to navigate degree completion using campus resources and online systems.
• Inform students about college guidelines, catalogs, and online resources.
• Monitor caseloads to ensure progress toward certificate or degree completion and send milestone messages.
• Respond to proactive alerts and provide information/referrals for tutoring, testing, counseling, financial aid, disability services, etc.
• Provide information on student life opportunities and benefits like leadership skills and civic engagement.
• Promote special programs and opportunities such as learning communities, bridge courses and honors programs.
• Inform students of procedures for withdrawal, repeating coursework, and graduation.
• Provide transfer planning to universities including articulation and transfer plans.
• Complete prescribed training and demonstrate proficiency in training applications.
• Support career & pathways advising for College Connection or other outreach programs.
• Perform other duties as required.
