Job summary

Houston Community College seeks a Dual Credit Advisor to collaborate with high school students, faculty, and staff to develop intentional educational and career plans for dual credit students.

You will inform prospective and current students about opportunities, provide high-level customer service, and assist with registration, advising, orientation, and completion initiatives as part of a cohesive Pathways team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Master’s degree in a related field preferred.
• 2 years related work experience in post-secondary institution required.
• Experience advising both high school and traditional-aged students in a higher education setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify appropriate educational and career options with dual credit students and establish action plans.
• Monitor academic progress using campus information systems and document status updates.
• Teach dual credit students the skills to self-navigate to degree completion using campus resources.
• Provide information on catalogs, guidelines, and online resources to students.
• Assist with transfer planning to universities, including articulation agreements and common course numbering.
• Complete prescribed training and demonstrate proficiency in applicable systems and processes.
• Perform other duties and assignments as required.
