Job summary

Houston Community College is seeking a Pathways and Case Management Advisor to partner with students, faculty, staff, Instructional Services, administrators, and the community in a proactive process which facilitates the development of intentional educational and career plans to help students achieve academic, personal, and professional goals.

You will inform prospective, new, and returning students of educational opportunities and requirements.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required
Master’s degree preferred
2 years related work experience in post-secondary institution required
Experience advising traditional-aged students and adults in higher education preferred
Valid Texas Driver License

Responsibilities

Identify appropriate educational and career options with students and establish goals and action plans.
Monitor academic progress and document status updates using technology.
Teach students to navigate degree completion using campus systems and resources.
Provide information and referrals to tutoring, testing, counseling, financial aid, etc.
Support transfer planning to universities and articulation agreements.
Assist with orientation, registration, and program completion initiatives.
