Job summary

Anchorage School District is seeking a Student Nutrition Area Supervisor to oversee multiple school locations and coach site managers in providing high-quality meals that meet federal requirements. The role acts as the liaison between principals, school staff, and the Student Nutrition central office.

The position emphasizes staff development, collaboration, and adherence to safety and reporting standards, with a retirement association through PERS.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in culinary arts, nutrition, hospitality management, business management, or related field.
• Three years of experience supervision, training, and evaluation of employees.
• Ability to plan, organize, and supervise the work of others.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and related programs.
• Scheduling skills such as timeline development, planning, and reporting.
• Work experience evidencing cooperative relations with inter-departments, students, and the public.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Conduct onsite visits with cafeteria teams, delivering coaching and training on meal patterns, allergy management, line flow, inventory management, and food safety.
• Performs site visits and annual program reviews; documents corrective actions with staff.
• Assesses operational processes and implements improvements.
• Ensures sanitation and employee safety procedures are followed and documented.
• Leads communication between principals, school staff, parents, students and Nutrition Dept.
• Coordinates hiring, onboarding, and coaching; tracks performance growth.
• Approves timecards and payroll for school-based staff.
• Provides disciplinary coaching and documentation when needed.
