Job summary

North Slope Borough School District is seeking an on-site kitchen supervisor to manage daily operations, ensuring nutritious meals are prepared and served on time while safeguarding the health of students, staff, and visitors.

The role requires a high school diploma, 1-2 years of related experience, and a valid Alaska driver’s license; preferred candidates may speak Iñupiaq and have institutional food preparation experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1-2 years related experience and/or training.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and participate in timely meal production.
• Oversee storage, cleanup, and safety tasks.
• Review monthly menus to ensure needed items.
• Estimate usage of non-food supplies and place orders.
• Prepare inventory and reconciliation reports.
• Handle USDA/DOE/district documentation.
• Train and evaluate new staff and substitutes.
• Assist the Food Service Manager with yearly orders.
• Follow all district policies and regulations.
