Job summary

Ascension St. Vincent in Central Indiana is seeking a nursing student to support Adult Med Surg and Progressive Care Units.

You will deliver direct bedside care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse while enrolled in an accredited nursing program. Working with a dedicated Preceptor, you will bridge classroom learning with real-world clinical workflows, gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced hospital environment in Central Indiana.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled or accepted into a nursing program at date of hire.
• Licensure/Certification: BLS Provider within 1 month of hire; instructor in Basic Life Support acceptable.
• Preferred credential: Nurse Aide.

• Delivers direct bedside care under RN supervision.
• Gains hands-on clinical competency while enrolled in program.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Acquires hands-on clinical competency by delivering direct bedside care while concurrently enrolled in an accredited nursing program.

• Engages in direct bedside patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to bridge the gap between academic theory and clinical practice.

• Collaborates closely with a dedicated Preceptor to deliver safe, high-quality patient care while gaining knowledge of clinical workflows.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):

• One or more of the following:

• Instructor specializing in Basic Life Support obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

• Preferred Credential(s):

• Nurse Aide.

Education

• High school diploma/GED required. Must be accepted or enrolled into a Nursing program upon date of hire/transfer and begin classes within 90 days of date of hire/transfer.
