Job summary

Ascension St. Agnes Hospital in Baltimore, MD seeks a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant for the Float Pool. You will provide direct patient care under RN supervision, document observations, and support a safe, healing environment.

This role requires enrollment in a nursing program or CNA/BLS timelines as noted; rotating shifts and PRN availability offer flexible hours while contributing to high-quality patient care in a faith-based, community hospital setting.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 30 days of hire.
• Nurse Aide required prior to hire date.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and track vital signs and patient responses to provide the clinical team with the real-time data necessary for safe, effective interventions.
• Document the patient's journey and clinical observations accurately to maintain high-quality medical records and seamless care transitions.
• Collaborate with your preceptor to refine care plans, using your frontline observations to help shape the best possible outcomes for your patients.
• Perform other tasks as assigned, including preparing/transporting patients for diagnostics and supporting a clean, safe healing environment.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Nurse Aide obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education

• High school diploma/GED required. Must be accepted or enrolled into a Nursing program upon date of hire/transfer and begin classes within 90 days of date of hire/transfer.

Additional Preferences

• Successful completion of first semester of RN curriculum.
• Maryland Board of Nursing CNA certification required.
• Commitment of 60 hours minimum (5-6 shifts) per semester based on intern's availability.
