Job summary

Liberty University’s LUCOM Library seeks a part-time student employee to assist with daily library operations, helping users with materials, equipment, software, and services.

The role includes cataloging support, answering reference questions, organizing displays, managing inventory, and supporting library programs. Working closely with staff, you will gain hands-on library experience on campus in Lynchburg, VA.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service and detail-oriented preferred.
• Effective communication, both verbal and written.
• Excellent computer and organization skills.
• Comfortable with technology; Windows and Mac OS, Bluetooth devices, and troubleshooting problems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge of the library’s automated system and cataloging standards.
• Answer reference questions and assist with cataloging according to Library of Congress standards.
• Assist with managing new books, displays, and bulletin boards; support inventory and weeding.
• Support student assessments on biofeedback and neurofeedback training by managing equipment inventory and providing onsite support.
• Assist with library programs and events as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
