Job summary

Liberty University is seeking a part-time Interlibrary Loan Assistant in the Jerry Falwell Library to support staff with processing and distributing library materials. The role requires reliable attendance, strong communication, and the ability to handle books and media with care.

You will work independently and as part of a team, performing duties such as locating items, scanning chapters, and using Alma to check materials in and out. Prior library experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Current student in good academic standing.
• Federal Work Study approved preferred.
• Able to push book carts weighing up to 250 pounds.
• Well-developed communications skills.
• Previous library experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interlibrary Loan Assistant: supports the Interlibrary Loan staff with gathering, processing, and distributing library materials to customers.
• Locates and retrieves books, audiovisual materials, and periodicals from the various library collections and areas.
• Scans articles/book chapters for customers.
• Uses Alma to check library materials in and out.
• Packages library materials being shipped to other libraries and distance learners.
• Transports library materials to and from the Customer Service Center and ASRS, and delivers materials to faculty offices.
