Qualifications

• Current UVA undergraduate or graduate student in good standing.
• General interest in computers, technology, and technical troubleshooting.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an emphasis on providing helpful and professional customer service.
• Ability to troubleshoot problems, exercise sound judgment, and make appropriate independent decisions.
• Detail-oriented, with strong organizational skills and the ability to follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-level technical assistance to HRL staff and students.
• Respond to, troubleshoot, and resolve reported hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
• Assist users with basic computer operations, software applications, and peripheral devices.
• Identify and escalate complex technical issues to appropriate IT staff.
• Notify the supervisor when equipment requires additional technical assistance, replacement, or outside repair services.
