Job summary

The Career Center at Portland State University seeks a Medical Receptionist to support SHAC’s Health and Counseling Services. You will greet students, check in, verify insurance, and schedule visits across several services in a fast-paced, confidential environment.

You’ll work with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate care, document accurately, and maintain a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere for PSU students and staff.

Qualifications

• Two years of general clerical experience and/or a certificate/associate degree as described.
• Experience with typing, word processing, or other document generation is expected.
• Experience handling high-volume customer service is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist students; check-in patients and collect/verify information.
• Schedule appointments and manage clinic forms and data entry, including pronouns and preferred names.
• Serve as liaison between students and SHAC providers to ensure appropriate care.
• Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and accuracy in handling sensitive information.
