Job summary

Joliet Junior College is seeking a Student Employee for the Financial Aid/Veterans Resource Center. This part-time role supports the Financial Aid Office and Veterans Resource Center, assisting students and handling light admin tasks around class schedules.

Responsibilities include responding to inquiries via email, live chat, in person, and by phone; scheduling appointments; scanning documents; and creating promotional materials. Requires good grades and strong communication.

Qualifications

• GPA of 2.0 or above.
• Must be enrolled at JJC in at least 6 credit hours in the fall/spring semester.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent Customer Service skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Attentiveness to detail, excellent organizational skills, initiative, and multitasking.
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with other members of the college and community, displaying cultural competence as well as emotional intelligence.

Responsibilities

• Perform general office duties within the Financial Aid Office and Veterans Resource Center.
• Assist students with general questions through email, Live Chat, in person, and by phone.
• Schedule appointments.
• Scan documents submitted to the Financial Aid Office and Veterans Resource Center.
• Create flyers, brochures, and other promotional materials.
• Complete special projects as requested
• Gain knowledge of the financial aid/veterans' process.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
