Job summary

Joliet Junior College is seeking a Student Employee for Project Achieve to support student services. The role includes front desk coverage, helping students with applications, and creating promotional materials, all within the Project Achieve and TRiO Student Support Services framework.

The position is part-time, with up to 20 hours per week during fall/spring and up to 28 hours during breaks, pending supervisor approval. FWS only.

Qualifications

• Receive Federal Work Study.
• Must be enrolled at Joliet Junior College in at least 6 credit hours during fall/spring semester.
• Maintain a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, public speaking and customer service skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel.
• HOURS: Must be available to work Monday-Friday between 8am-4:30pm, 15-20 hours/week.
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with other members of the college and community, displaying cultural competence and emotional intelligence.

Responsibilities

• Assist new students with Program application.
• Assist students with making appointments with proper academic tutor.
• Create flyers, brochures, bulletin boards and other promotional materials.
• Provide front desk coverage and answer phones as needed.
• Handle documentation and files.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
