Job summary

Joliet Junior College is seeking a Specialist II TEMP for Student Accounts & Payments. The role involves billing, collections, payment plans, refunds, and delinquent account management in a confidential, FERPA-compliant environment.

You will work under the Bursar, Student Accounts, in a non-exempt, full-time capacity, with occasional evenings and weekends as needed. Prior experience in college accounting is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years of student accounts receivable or similar accounting experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Internet.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with interruptions.
• Willingness to work some evenings and weekends.
• Commitment to diversity, inclusion and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Receive, research, review, process, record and deposit all monies accurately and timely.
• Provide excellent customer service through professional communication.
• Support cash management for college departments.
• Maintain relationships with software and outsourced vendor services related to student accounts.
• Handle invoicing, refunds, and accounts receivable/payable following policies and FERPA.
