Job summary

Granite School District is seeking a Paraeducator/Instructional Assistant (Behavior Health Assistant) in Fort Worth, TX. This role requires tracking student behaviors, supporting general education students, and assisting with behavior management within the classroom.

Hours are 29 per week, with attendance and consistent presence emphasized. The position involves collaboration with teachers, social workers and other staff, and may include crisis support and data collection as part of SST

Qualifications

• Basic reading, writing and math skills.
• Ability to interact positively with students.
• Ability to assist students in a variety of situations that may arise.

Responsibilities

• Track behaviors of general education students identified by the SST.
• Support students exhibiting behavioral or emotional problems.
• Maintain student contracts and signatures.
• Promote positive behaviors and de-escalate negative behaviors.
• Collaborate with teachers, social workers and school psychologists.
• Check on students to reinforce positive behavior.
• Provide direct behavioral support by prompting and redirecting.
• Support targeted students in transitions and less structured areas.
• Assist students in crises.
• Collect data and share with the SST.
