Job summary

Fort Bend ISD is seeking a High School Aide for Behavior Support Services (BSS) to assist in academic, behavioral, social, and self-care areas for students with severe emotional and behavioral disabilities.

The role supports teachers by implementing IEPs, BIPs, and accommodations, maintaining a safe learning environment, and documenting progress. Experience in de-escalation and data collection is valued; this is a grant-funded paraeducator position in 2026-2027.

Qualifications

Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
Ability to document services and progress accurately.
Experience with IEP/BIP implementation and data collection preferred.
Proficiency with MS Office and basic computer skills required.
Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and staff to support students.

Responsibilities

Assist in providing structured routines and expectations for a highly organized environment.
Support students in academic, behavioral, social, and self-care activities.
Implement IEPs and BIPs with appropriate accommodations/modifications.
Document service delivery on approved logs and monitor progress toward goals.
Collaborate with teachers to align lesson plans to the curriculum.
Assist with personal care services as needed and maintain safety.
