Job summary

Granite School District is seeking a paraeducator to assist teachers in instruction and supervision of students under the direction of the principal and teachers. Attendance, presence, and timeliness are essential.

Responsibilities include preparing materials, assisting with classroom activities, tutoring, testing, data tracking, and maintaining confidentiality while collaborating with staff. Hours are up to 29 per week and the role supports a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• If working in a Title 1 school, pass the ParaPro exam or have 48 college credits.
• Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
• Effective written and oral communication.
• Ability to follow directions and interact positively with students.
• No prior experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing instructional materials.
• Assist in instruction and classroom activities as needed.
• Tutor students individually or in small groups.
• Assist with tests and monitor student progress.
• Maintain accurate data on assigned students or groups.
• Support a positive and confidential classroom environment.
• Maintain effective communication with students, teachers, parents, staff and administrators.
• Collaborate with a team and work assigned hours.
