Job summary

Granite School District is seeking a Paraeducator & Instructional Assistant/Behavior Health Assistant (BHA). The position requires working with students under the supervision of the Social Worker to identify, track and support access to the general curriculum.

Attendance is essential, with duties centered in the classroom and surrounding areas. The role focuses on supporting students with behavioral needs, collaborating with school staff, and collecting data for SST teams.

Qualifications

• Basic reading, writing and math skills required.
• Ability to interact positively with students and staff.
• Ability to assist students in a variety of situations that may arise.

Responsibilities

• Track behaviors of general education students identified by SST through MTSS.
• Work with students identified by the SST who exhibit behavioral or emotional problems.
• Track student contracts for completion and signatures.
• Promote positive behaviors and help de-escalate negative behaviors.
• Collaborate with teachers, social workers, psychologists and other support personnel.
