Job summary

Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana is seeking a part-time Student Advising Work-Study to support the advising team and enhance the student experience. You will handle appointment scheduling, greet students, and assist with event materials and office tasks.

The role offers hands-on experience in student services and administrative duties while developing communication and organizational skills for Ivy Tech students and staff.

Qualifications

• No prior experience is required, though customer service or office support experience is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a positive and approachable attitude.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive student information.

Responsibilities

• Appointment Scheduling & Coordination: Help students schedule appointments with academic advisors, ensuring proper documentation and follow-up.
• Student Support: Greet students and visitors in a friendly and professional manner, directing them to resources and advising services.
• Office Organization & Clerical Tasks: Maintain tidy spaces, update advising materials, and assist with newsletters and event announcements.
• Special Projects & Event Support: Help coordinate orientation sessions, advising fairs, and planning workshops.
