Job summary

Joliet Junior College is seeking a TEMP Specialist II in Student Accounts & Payments to handle billing, refunds, and collections for a diverse student population. This part-time role reports to the Bursar and supports departmental operations with confidentiality and FERPA compliance.

The position requires strong accounting basics, customer service skills, and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment while collaborating across campus units.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent.
• Three (3) years of student accounts receivable or similar accounting experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Internet.
• Ability to effectively and efficiently function in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with frequent interruptions.
• Flexibility to adjust scheduled hours as needed.
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with other members of the college and community, displaying cultural competence and emotional intelligence.

Responsibilities

• Receive, research and review, process, record and deposit all monies for the institution in accordance with procedures.
• Communicate effectively with customers.
• Provide cash management support to departments within the college.
• Maintain software and outsourced vendor service relationships as related to student accounts.
• Perform all accounting, invoicing and refunding related to student accounts receivables and payables; provide 1098T information.
• Train and provide support to employees on accounts receivable processes.
• Coordinate and assist with collection efforts of delinquent accounts with collection and legal agencies.
• Prepare data and trend analyses for executive management and audits.
