Job summary

Brown & Root Industrial Services in Louisiana is seeking an experienced structural welder to certify proficiency in SMAW or GMAW and to lay out, align and weld components per blueprints. Responsibilities include selecting materials, planning layouts, and applying various arc welding processes while maintaining quality, safety and accuracy on piping, tanks and structural frames.

Ideal candidates will have a strong eye for detail, the ability to read technical drawings, and a commitment to safety

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in welding on structural steel.
• Ability to read blueprints/metallurgy.
• Welding procedures certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lay out, align and weld components per blueprints.
• Select pipe sizes and plan layouts and welding.
• Operate various welding processes as required.
• Inspect weld bead size and quality.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness.
