Job summary

Brown & Root Industrial Services is seeking a skilled welder to certify on multi-process welding, proficient in SMAW, GTAW, and GMAW. Candidate may need x-ray qualities and will lay out, align, and weld fabricated components per blueprints and metallurgy.

Responsibilities include selecting pipes, planning layouts, and applying welding techniques to assemble piping systems, tanks, vessels, and structures. Safety and certification tests are required, with opportunities for advancement within the

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; experience in welding or related field may be required.
• Ability to read blueprints and metallurgy to assemble components.
• Experience with SMAW, GTAW and GMAW welding processes is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Selects type and size of pipe or related materials according to specifications.
• Plans layouts, assembly, and welding, using knowledge of geometry and metal properties.
• May use GMAW, SMAW, GTAW, SAW, or SMA welding processes as required.
• Lays out, positions, and fits components for welding.
• Welds metal parts in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions.
