Job summary

LVI Associates is seeking a Structural Team Lead to guide the housing team in the Twin Cities. This role combines hands‑on engineering with project and client management, staff development, and multi‑project oversight.

Ideal candidates bring 8+ years of housing experience, a PE license, and strong leadership. You will mentor engineers, collaborate with architects and developers, and ensure quality across wood, concrete, steel, and masonry systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering required.
• 8+ years of structural engineering experience, preferably in housing.
• Professional Engineer licence required or ability to obtain in Minnesota.
• Experience leading project teams and mentoring engineers or designers.
• Strong knowledge of housing systems: wood framing, concrete, steel, masonry, precast, light‑gauge framing.
• Experience managing scope, fees, schedules, staffing, and client expectations.
• Proficiency with RAM, RISA, ETABS, Revit or similar tools.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural projects across housing, multifamily, mixed‑use, and related sectors.
• Manage projects from design through construction administration.
• Be primary contact for architects, developers, contractors, and owners.
• Oversee scope, fees, schedules, staffing, and budgets.
