Job summary

LVI Associates is seeking a Lead Structural Engineer to join the expanding Minneapolis team. This role offers leadership over projects, mentoring of engineers, and close client interaction while staying hands-on with structural design and analysis.

The successful candidate will manage multiple projects, maintain technical excellence, and contribute to the growth of the Minneapolis office. Strong communication and travel as needed are essential.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of structural engineering experience, primarily building structures.
• Professional Engineer licence required.
• Experience leading structural projects and multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong background in structural steel and reinforced concrete design.
• Experience with low- to mid-rise commercial and/or light industrial buildings.
• Knowledge of shallow foundation systems and standard construction practices.
• Proficiency with structural analysis and modelling software.
• Working knowledge of ICC, ACI, AISC, and ASCE standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects from concept through construction.
• Design and analyze steel, reinforced concrete, and masonry systems.
• Manage scope, schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
• Prepare and review calculations, drawings, specs, and reports.
• Coordinate with architects, contractors, owners, and partners.
• Mentor junior engineers and designers.
• Support client relationships and Minneapolis growth.
• Drive BIM-led workflows and advanced analysis techniques.
