Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. in Minnesota is seeking a Structural Staff Engineer to join our Renewables Division. You will design foundations and ancillary structures for utility-scale wind and solar facilities, and prepare calculations, reports, specs, and plans.

The role requires ABET-credited civil/structural background, strong MS Office skills, and clear communication. Travel is minimal, and you will support project managers and engineering leads across multiple Westwood projects.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in ABET accredited B.S. program in civil/structural engineering
• Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.) a must
• Effective verbal communication and technical writing skills
• Ability to pay close attention to detail, follow processes, and check the quality of own work
• Ability to use sound engineering judgment
• Ability to manage time and workload effectively, including planning, organizing, and prioritizing with attention to detail
• Minimal travel possible

Responsibilities

• Responsible for structural design of foundations and ancillary structures for utility scale wind and solar facilities
• Prepares structural design calculations, reports, specifications, and plans
• Assists Engineering Leads and Project Managers in the drafting and design of utility scale solar projects
• Provides professional and technical support to multiple Westwood projects
• Delivers day-to-day support and input to internal and external Project Managers
