Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Structural Project Engineer to join our Renewables team in Las Vegas.

The role focuses on the structural design of foundations and retaining walls for utility-scale wind, battery storage, and solar facilities, and on preparing design reports, specifications, and plans. You will support project managers in drafting and designing solar projects, with day-to-day input and collaboration across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil/structural engineering is required.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required; SE a plus.
• Minimum 3 years of related work experience.
• Familiar with ASCE loading calculations.
• Foundation design experience: shallow footings, slab-on-grade, deep foundations.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
• Proficiency with structural software (RISA) a plus.
• AutoCAD drafting experience is a plus.
• Geotechnical background is a plus.
• Solar or wind energy background is a plus.
• Minimal travel required.

Responsibilities

• Structural design of foundations and retaining walls for utility-scale wind, battery storage, and solar facilities.
• Prepare or direct structural design reports, specifications, and plans.
• Assist Project Managers in drafting and design of utility-scale solar projects.
• Provide day-to-day support and input to Project Managers.
