Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Structural Engineer to join our Renewables team in Westminster, CO. You will lead structural design for foundations and retaining walls on utility-scale wind, battery storage, and solar facilities, and prepare design reports and plans.

You will collaborate with project managers, contribute to technical writing, and apply your experience with RISA, AutoCAD, and ASCE loading calculations while traveling minimally for site work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil/structural engineering.
• Registered Professional Engineer required, S.E. registration a plus.
• Minimum 3 years of related work experience.
• Familiar with ASCE loading calculations.
• Background in foundation design, including shallow spread footings, slab-on-grade, and deep foundations.
• Sound verbal communication and technical writing skills.
• Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.) a must.
• Proficient with structural engineering software, such as RISA, a plus.
• AutoCAD drafting experience is a plus.
• Geotechnical background is a plus.
• Solar or wind energy background is a plus.
• Minimal travel possible.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the structural design of foundations and retaining walls for utility scale wind, battery storage and solar facilities.
• Prepares or directs the structural design reports, specifications, and plans.
• Assist Project Managers in the drafting and design of utility scale solar projects.
• Day to day support and input to Project Managers.
