Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. seeks a Structural Engineer to join our Renewables team. You will design foundations for wind, battery storage, and solar facilities, and prepare reports and plans for utility-scale projects.

The role requires a PE license (SE a plus) and at least 3 years of experience, with proficiency in MS Office and structural software such as RISA. Travel is limited, and AutoCAD experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil/structural engineering required.
• Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) required; SE registration a plus.
• Minimum 3 years of related work experience.
• Familiar with ASCE loading calculations.
• Background in foundation design, including shallow spread footings, slab-on-grade, and deep foundations.
• Sound verbal communication and technical writing skills.
• Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.) a must.
• Proficient with structural engineering software, such as RISA, a plus.
• AutoCAD drafting experience is a plus.
• Geotechnical background is a plus.
• Solar or wind energy background is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the structural design of foundations and retaining walls for utility scale wind, battery storage and solar facilities.
• Prepares or directs the structural design reports, specifications, and plans.
• Assist Project Managers in the drafting and design of utility scale solar projects.
• Day to day support and input to Project Managers.
