Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking Engineering Interns to perform tasks applying standard engineering techniques and procedures in Denver, CO. Responsibilities include assisting lead engineers, preparing PowerPoint presentations, data entry and documentation, with tasks varying by market such as Transmission & Distribution.

The role requires pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering, ABET accreditation preferred, and involvement in campus or community activities.

Qualifications

• Pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering from an accredited program.
• ABET accreditation strongly preferred.
• Prior internship or related consulting experience preferred.
• Active involvement in campus, community or other volunteer activities or organizations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Self-motivated and eager learner with aptitude to grow in the field.

Responsibilities

• Assist with filing, scanning, data entry, documentation and PowerPoint presentations.
• Assist with responses to general questions.
• Participate in continuous improvement by collecting and analyzing data.
• Present solutions to project concerns.
• Research solutions to project concerns; analyze and recommend solutions.
• Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned by managers.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
