Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Denver, CO, is seeking an Engineering Intern to support transmission & distribution design efforts and related tasks. The intern will assist with documentation, data entry, and presentations while learning from lead engineers on multiple projects.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a Civil Engineering degree, engaged in campus activities, and demonstrating strong communication and analytical skills. This role offers hands-on experience in a professional engineering setting.

Qualifications

• Pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an accredited program.
• ABET accreditation strongly preferred.
• Prior internship and/or related consulting experience preferred.
• Active involvement in campus, community or other volunteer activities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Basic knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Self-motivated and eager learner, aptitude to grow within the field.

Responsibilities

• Assist with filing, scanning, data entry, documentation and PowerPoint presentations.
• Assist with responses to general questions.
• Participate in continuous improvement by collecting and analyzing data.
• Present solutions to concerns.
• Research solutions to project concerns; analyze and recommend.
• Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned by managers.
• Perform duties in compliance with policies and standards.
