Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an Engineering Intern in Houston, TX. You will support lead engineers with standard design tasks, data entry, documentation, and PowerPoint presentations.

The role emphasizes learning, data analysis, and problem solving within the Transmission & Distribution market. The internship requires pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, ABET accreditation is preferred, and prior internships or related consulting experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited program.
• ABET accreditation strongly preferred.
• Prior internship or related consulting experience is a plus.
• Active campus or community involvement is encouraged.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and analytical abilities.
• Basic knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Assist with filing, scanning, data entry, documentation and PowerPoint presentations.
• Assist with responses to general questions.
• Participate in data collection and analysis for continuous improvement.
• Present solutions to concerns and research project problems.
• Support managers with ad hoc project assignments.
