Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking Engineering Interns to support standard engineering tasks across markets, incl. Transmission & Distribution. You will assist with data entry, documentation, and presentations while gaining exposure to project work and continuous improvement initiatives.

The role emphasizes a 3.0 GPA, campus/community involvement, and foundational engineering skills in civil/structural disciplines. This internship provides hands-on experience with guidance from lead engineers.

Qualifications

• Pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related field from a recognized, accredited program required.
• ABET accreditation strongly preferred.
• Prior internship and/or related consulting experience preferred.
• Actively involved in campus, community or other volunteer activities or organizations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with tasks that may include filing, scanning, data entry, documentation and Power Point presentation.
• Assist with responses to general questions.
• Participate in continuous improvement efforts by collecting and analyzing data.
• Present solutions to concerns.
• Research solutions to project concerns; analyze and recommend solutions to problems.
• Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned by managers.
• Minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
• Involvement on campus or in the community preferred.
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the country where this position is located.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
