Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Wallingford, CT is seeking an Engineering Intern to apply standard engineering techniques across civil/structural projects and assist lead engineers with design updates. Tasks include filing, data entry, documentation and preparing PowerPoint presentations.

The role emphasizes strong written and verbal communication, problem solving and a proactive learning mindset. ABET accreditation is preferred and internship involvement is valued.

Qualifications

• Pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited program.
• ABET accreditation strongly preferred.
• Prior internship or related consulting experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with filing, scanning, data entry, documentation and PowerPoint presentations.
• Assist with responses to general questions.
• Participate in data collection and continuous improvement efforts.
• Present solutions to project concerns and research solutions; analyze and recommend options.
• Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned by managers.
• Comply with all policies and standards.
