Job summary

Brown and Caldwell, a national environmental engineering firm, seeks a Structural Engineer to lead design on a portfolio of projects and deliver high-quality structural drawings and specifications. You will perform structural analysis of concrete, steel, aluminum, and masonry, coordinate with other disciplines, and support construction with RFIs and shop drawings.

Hybrid work is preferred; remote work is allowed for candidates in Mountain, Pacific, or Hawaiian time zones, near our Seattle,

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in structural engineering.
• Experience in structural design and understanding construction processes.
• Experience reviewing shop drawings and responding to RFIs in a construction setting.
• FE exam passed or in progress for Engineer in Training (EIT) registration.
• Pursuit of SMS competencies under BC's Framework.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design of concrete, steel, aluminum, and masonry structures.
• Prepare structural drawings and specifications in compliance with building codes.
• Conduct existing conditions investigations and prepare reports.
• Engage in cross-discipline coordination to resolve design conflicts.
• Provide construction phase support including shop drawing reviews, RFI responses, change orders, and substitutions.
• Mentor junior team members as needed.
