Job summary

Brown and Caldwell, a national environmental engineering firm, seeks a Structural Engineer to lead project design and deliver high-quality structures for diverse clients. You will perform analysis and design for concrete, steel, masonry, and aluminum while ensuring code compliance and cross-disciplinary coordination.

Hybrid work is preferred, located near our Western/Mountain time zones. Responsibilities include condition investigations, shop drawing reviews, RFIs, and guiding junior staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with a focus on structural engineering or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency in structural analysis and detailing for concrete, steel, aluminum, and masonry.
• Familiarity with ACI 318, ACI 350, AISC 360, IBC, and ASCE 7.
• Ability to investigate existing conditions and prepare precise reports.
• Experience reviewing shop drawings and responding to RFIs in construction.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design of concrete, steel, aluminum, and masonry structures.
• Conduct existing conditions investigations and prepare reports.
• Prepare structural drawings and specifications in compliance with codes.
• Coordinate across disciplines to resolve design conflicts.
• Provide construction phase support including shop drawings, RFIs, and change orders.
• Mentor and support junior team members as needed.
