Kiewit Power Engineering is seeking a Structural Designer to join our team in Houston, TX. You will help establish and improve standards, create BIM models for foundations and steel structures, and collaborate with engineers and drafting staff to deliver project-ready drawings.

The ideal candidate has a 2-year CAD-related technical degree and at least 4 years of structural design experience, with BIM experience preferred. Tekla familiarity is a plus; training is available in-house.

Qualificações

• Minimum of a 2-year technical school degree related to Computer Aided Design.
• 4+ years of structural design experience.
• Experience with BIM (Building Information Modeling) preferred.
• Ability to interpret multi-discipline engineering and vendor documents.
• Leadership and mentoring abilities to guide junior designers.
• Strong communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of latest operating systems.
• Effective written and verbal communication across teams.

Responsabilidades

• Coordinate with other design group team members to review and exchange project information necessary for design and development.
• Check design for consistency, safety, operability and maintenance requirements before submitting to checking.
• Report task progress to Lead Designer.
• Gather required information and collaborate with engineers and multiple disciplines to develop BIM models for foundations and steel structures.
• Leverage Building Information Modeling (BIM) to create plans, drawings, and details.
• Assist in the development of department standards and tools.
• Mentor other team members in design and modeling techniques.
• Resolve design issues effectively with input from responsible engineer.
