Job summary

Kiewit Power Engineering is seeking a Senior structural designer to join our team. You will apply BIM to create plans, drawings, and details, with focus on foundations and steel structures, and coordinate with Design Engineers and other disciplines.

The role emphasizes leading by example, mentoring less experienced teammates, and helping establish standards while delivering safe, efficient designs. This position can be based in multiple offices; remote start in some locations.

Qualifications

• Completion of a vocational CAD program and 9+ years of Tekla-based structural design experience.
• Ability to interpret multi-discipline engineering and vendor documents.
• Leadership and mentoring capabilities for peers with less experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with design teams to review and exchange project information for design.
• Check designs for safety, operability, and maintenance before submission.
• Develop BIM models for foundations and steel structures; create plans and details.
• Mentor teammates in design and modeling techniques.
• Collaborate with engineers from multiple disciplines to drive coordination.
