Job summary

Kiewit Power Engineering is seeking a Senior Structural Designer to lead BIM-based design efforts for foundations and steel structures. You will coordinate with multiple disciplines, ensure design quality, and mentor junior staff as part of a collaborative team.

The role requires interpretation of multi-discipline documents, strong communication, and leadership in an engineering environment. Based in Lenexa, KS or other listed offices with potential remote start in some locations.

Qualifications

• Completion of a vocational training program in Computer Aided Design.
• 9+ years of structural design experience using Tekla.
• Ability to interpret multi-discipline engineering and vendor documents.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with design group to review and exchange project information for design and development.
• Check designs for consistency, safety, operability and maintenance requirements before checking.
• Gathers required information and collaborates with engineers to develop BIM models for foundations and steel structures.
• Mentor team members in design and modeling techniques.
• Resolve design issues with input from responsible engineer.
