Kiewit Power Engineering is seeking a Structural Designer to join our team in Tempe, AZ. The candidate will help establish and improve design standards while contributing to project success, using BIM tools and Tekla where applicable.

The role entails coordination with multiple disciplines, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring designs meet safety and operability criteria. Excellent communication and leadership are essential.

Competenze

• Minimum of a 2-year technical school degree related to CAD and 4 years of structural design experience.
• BIM experience is preferred.
• Ability to interpret multi-discipline engineering and vendor documents.
• Leadership and communication skills to mentor less experienced designers.

Mansioni

• Coordinate with other design group team members to review and exchange project information for design and development.
• Check design for consistency, safety, operability and maintenance requirements before submitting for checking.
• Report task progress to Lead Designer.
• Gather information and collaborate with engineers to develop BIM models for foundations and steel structures.
• Leverage BIM to create plans, drawings and details.
• Assist in developing department standards and tools.
• Mentor other team members in design and modeling techniques.
• Resolve design issues with input from the responsible engineer.
