Qualifications

• Knowledge of Optime scheduling, medical terminology, and spelling.
• Knowledge of instrumentation and equipment specific to procedures to avoid scheduling conflicts.
• Skill in maintaining schedules and records and organizing work to ensure time frames are met.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to complete routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to listen and accurately interpret others' communication or instructions to take appropriate action.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Responsibilities

• Schedule non-emergency surgeries for Main OR and Ambulatory Surgery.
• Check surgery schedule daily for procedure codes, equipment needs, procedure wording, and anesthesia coverage.
• Review reports daily to verify services required from other departments and surgeon suspension list.
• Train new personnel in surgery scheduling.
• Respond to surgeon office needs and changes.
