Job summary

SES Space & Defense is seeking a Business Development Manager, Space Initiatives, to shape and grow sovereign space capabilities for U.S. Government and allied nations.

The role emphasizes strategic planning, cross-functional collaboration, and driving growth in space and network solutions. You are a seasoned BD leader with DoD acquisition knowledge, a Top Secret/SCI clearance, and a strong network across government and industry.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Aerospace, Business, Communications, or related field
• Advanced degree preferred
• Minimum 10 years in satellite/space industry
• Active Top Secret/SCI security clearance
• Experience with DoD PPBE, DoD 5000, OTA procurements
• Leadership in BD, capture, sales, marketing, growth strategies
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally
• Familiarity with CRM tools and government contracting

Responsibilities

• Position SES Space & Defense as a leader in Sovereign Space markets
• Lead end-to-end space-based network and satellite solutions programs
• Support proposal development including RFIs, RFPs, RFQs and capture
• Develop relationships with U.S. Government orgs, partners, vendors
• Analyze government market trends and forecast SATCOM demand
• Define growth strategies and investment recommendations
• Identify opportunities with allies and international partners
• Engage senior leadership and coordinate cross-functional teams
• Attend industry events and customer engagements as required
