Job summary

Forward Air Corp. seeks a Site Manager for Contract Logistics Operations to oversee a single contract logistics site, driving safety, quality, and financial results.

You will coach supervisors and frontline teams, execute strategies, and lead continuous improvement to meet performance metrics and customer expectations. You will manage end-to-end operations from inbound to final delivery, champion 5S and lean initiatives, and own the site P&L while aligning resources with demand and customer

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field preferred; HS diploma or GED acceptable.
• 5+ years’ leadership experience in a 3PL/contract logistics, manufacturing, or similar operations environment.
• Demonstrated experience managing site-level operations with financial accountability.
• Strong knowledge of WMS, ERP (SAP, Oracle, etc.), and reporting/data tools.
• Experience managing customer-facing operations in a contract or service-based environment.
• LEAN, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies, with practical live-ops applications.
• Experience developing dashboards, scorecards, and KPI reports to manage site performance.
• Ability to create, track, and analyze operational metrics related to safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity.

Responsibilities

• Lead all site operations from inbound receipt through final delivery.
• Coach operations and support teams to drive consistent execution and discipline.
• Execute operational plans aligned with customer requirements and strategy.
• Ensure facilities operate safely, cleanly, and compliant with 5S principles.
• Own site-level P&L including labor, variable costs, and expenses.
• Lead workforce planning, forecasting, and capacity management.
• Monitor performance, identify variances, and implement corrective actions.
• Manage site capex related to approved investments and improvements.
• Sponsor and lead productivity, quality, velocity, and cost-improvement projects.
• Establish and manage site performance metrics across safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity.
• Lead performance reviews with customers and internal stakeholders.
