Job summary

Forward Air Corp. is seeking an Operations Manager to provide day-to-day leadership across multimodal transportation, supply chain and contract logistics operations. You will drive service delivery, performance, safety, quality and productivity while coaching Supervisors and frontline teams.

The role concentrates on workforce management, cost control, and meeting customer commitments. Requires leadership experience in transportation or warehouse operations and strong data-driven decision making.

Qualifications

Undergraduate degree (or higher) in Supply Chain, Business, Logistics or related field.
5+ years’ experience in transportation, supply chain, 3PL/contract logistics, manufacturing, or similar operations.
Forklift certification and ability to operate MHE as required.

Responsibilities

Lead daily operations across multiple functional areas to ensure service commitments.
Drive disciplined execution of operational plans aligned with customer requirements.
Serve as primary escalation point for service, quality, throughput issues.
Enforce standard work, SOPs, and regulatory requirements.
Own KPIs related to safety, quality, delivery, service, cost, and productivity.
Lead performance reviews and drive corrective actions using dashboards.
