Job summary

Gallagher seeks a Director, Risk Advisory to grow client relationships, optimize the total cost of risk, and lead a team of risk management professionals across engagements.

You will negotiate with brokers and underwriters, develop new business, and guide strategy with client leadership and boards. The role demands deep insurance/risk management experience, strong leadership, and a commitment to delivering exceptional client service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in risk management or related field.
• 10–15 years’ experience in insurance/risk management.
• 3–5 years in account/relationship management with team leadership.
• Experience with partners in the insurance industry.
• Ability to negotiate contracts and support sales.
• Aptitude for marketing calls and sales.
• Proven ability to negotiate, analyze exposures and sales analytics.
• Proficient with Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Multi-tasking and ability to adapt to changing priorities.
• Deadline-driven with strong client service.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Act as account executive and relationship manager to ensure long-term client satisfaction and ongoing risk management needs.
• Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders to deliver services.
• Negotiate with brokers, underwriters, vendors and partners to define and manage service delivery standards.
• Manage client engagements and lead teams across risk management functions.
• Support development of new clients through proposals and negotiations.
• Define strategies to optimize total cost of risk for clients.
• Lead strategy sessions and present options to leadership and boards.
• Assemble and manage teams to run risk management functions.
• Onboard new client accounts and expand service offerings with internal teams.
• Coach and develop Directors, Managers and Associates; set performance expectations.
